We went as a group and were very happy with the resort. it was a little pricey for what was there. The new huts were very nice but felt that it is not well pictured on the website. The staff were very friendly but not up to standard when it came to serving breakfast and lunch, it was a very limited menu. All of us were there for the turtle watching and would go back to this resort to stay.
We went in the middle of summer and ramadan and were abit disappointed in the rate seeing that there was no licensed bar. The pool table was not level. Alot of building work was going on in the site which was not mentioned on the website.
Terras has very nice view and is comfortable to stay.
Quality of the bed was very poor, unfortunately no view from the hut, even no windows. No option to stay in or near your hut during the day.
It was a very rustic, scenic beach resort
Huts were made of straw. That would be OK except the electrical wiring was crude. Could be a fire hazard. the shower was really flimsy
Clean facilities, yummy, veg-friendly dinner, beach access, playground for children, and close proximity to Ras al Jinz.
The breakfast could've been better. A shuttle service to Ras al Jinz would've been much more convenient for guests.
This resort was more than I expected, especially after reading the reviews. We had a very nice and comfortable stay. The room (double room with ac and private badthroom) was very nice decorated (very rare in Oman) and had a nice atmosphere, the room was clean and the bed was fine. Location was good, with a nice private beach. Staff was friendly en helpful en the food was good. I would stay here again!
The resort is a bit remote, but that's also the charm of it. It's about an hour drive from Sur (trough nothing) and half an hour from Ras Al Jinz, where you can watch turtles.
Very well run with cheerful and helpful staff. A peaceful location ideal for a weekend getaway - Will definitely be returning.
Not applicable - no complaints.
The resort is nice and has a beach with white sands so wonderful... Recommanded specailly for couples Oman is a wonderful country with beautiful Mountains, Beaches, Sand Dunes, Caves and Wadies all within short distances cheers
The location is the draw card to visit Ras Al Jinz. The room was clean and well presented.
Service at the reception desk was a little abrupt. The resort looks across the lagoon to an industrial complex which is a bit of a detraction. Not enough shade. The saddest part was the state of the floor of the enclosed swimming area in the lagoon. A great deal of rubbish which was upsetting in a turtle reserve area. .
The spot is definitively what is the main purpose behind staying in the resort
The showers aren't well done leaving water to spill in the whole washroom ... and in some rooms there is no water pressure I personally categorize it as a backpaker hotel by excellence ... you need a bed to sleep and a toilet to have a shower. Beside that you really don't care about the rest and anyways not much is given ... But its worh the calm mornings and chill out afternoon at the shoreline ...
Location and Staff
The traditional buildings are a god idea but they now require a make over to restore them to orginal status
The location and theme of the hotel are perfect - I can say it is the best in its area
I booked the Hamoor Room with AC for me and my wife. The room was dirty and full of flies and mosquitoes. There was ultraviolet trap inside the room but was not effective! The least that can be said, the room is not worth 75 OMR. Furthermore, after we checked in we found out that the AC is not working and the reception could not fix it. We had to spend the night with flies and mosquitoes in this hot room - basically we didn't get any sleep!! At check out, they did not even care to offer any compensation, In stead I had to negotiate the rate given that they have different rates for rooms without AC. All they managed to give me is 15 OMR discount on the original rate which is very unfair!!! The hotel name is also misleading; to see any turtles you have to take the ~20 minutes boat trip that costs 4 OMR per person. Finally the food menu is limited to two/three main dishes that were not that great. There are no other option in this area - you have to drive ~30 KM to get to the nearest city/village!
All the staff, especially Ms. Luz Fontanilla, is very kind!
Clean. Friendly Staff & Location, The hotel is mostly Simple Traditional "Wodden Huts" which is part of the charm. Location is close (5km) from where you get to see the turtles.
like the location with the beach, the meals and general attitude of staff very helpful and friendly
unfortunately we stayed in the huts and at night my son and my husband and daughter got very badly bitten by mozis in fact my son ended up with over 75 bites on his hands, face and feet. would it not be possible to put up some kind of nets either over beds or on outside because this really caused upset and ruined the memory
The evirement was eccelent We liked it very much because for us it was an place to relaxe
We thought we ware lucky that we mete een staff member when we arrived (in the bar). Because we woudt like something to drink and there was nobody A little bel may help
